This 90cc motorcycle was brought to us by the original owner who’s had it since he was only 14 years old. After all these years, it is obviously in need of a great deal of mechanical work before it will be considered a reliable piece again.
Before even considering the cosmetic side of the restoration, we first plan to get it running. That process will likely include cleaning and coating the inside of the tank, cleaning the carburetor, installing a new muffler (it’s missing entirely), and installing new crank seals. With projects of this nature, we never really fully know what work is ahead of us until we begin the unlayering process.
After it is running soundly, the next phase will be to recover the seat, re-lace and true the wheels, and mount and balance new tires.
Finally, we will have the customer return to the shop to assess the condition of the motorcycle and see how much further they want to take the cosmetic side of the restoration.
Typically, the next phase to enhance the aesthetics would include painting, polishing, chroming, and powdercoating.
Either way, we’re excited to dive into this project and look forward to sharing the finished product with all of you!
