The Lima Half-Mile will take place this year on Saturday, June 24th at the Allen County Fairgrounds. This flat-track race is one of the few events we rarely miss, all because of a man named Ted Guarasci.
Ted was John’s roommate, racing partner, and friend. While competing on his XR750 at the Lima Half-Mile in 1982, Ted was struck by another rider and succumbed to his injuries upon impact. July 17th will mark the 35th anniversary of Ted’s passing.
He had a true passion for the sport and an uncompromising desire to live his life doing what he loved. Each year, our attendance serves as a reminder for us to chase our dreams, live life without hesitation, and continue to pursue our passions.
The Lima Half-Mile is an extremely competitive race as far as the flack-track arena goes and provides a show that will leave you on the edge of your seat. If you haven’t been, or haven’t been in a while- consider attending this year and be sure to say hello if you see us!
